Description Level/Grade: Level 1 / 2nd–3rd Registration Closes: 8/22/2025 Classes Start: 9/11/2025 Length: 5 Weeks Day: Thursdays Time: 9:00 am – 10:00 am PST Teacher: Lori May/Claire Sakelson Materials: Novel and Workbook included During this 5-week session, teachers will support students as they journal ideas, explore vocabulary, dive deep into the plot, discuss ideas, receive feedback on the weekly writing exercise, and build a culminating project. Each time a word strikes Donavan as extraordinary, he writes it down on a slip of paper and puts it in a jar. When his collection no longer fits in its container, he asks several people what to do, but in a serendipitous way comes upon the solution himself.
